How scoring works

Every product gets a score from 0 to 100 - how well it fits a whole-food, longevity-friendly way of eating. The recipe is simple.

Step 1
Score the nutrition

Each category is judged on its own key nutrients - salt for sardines, cocoa for chocolate, fiber for oats.

Step 2
Ingredients

Short, recognizable ingredient lists lift the score. Ultra-processed formulas shrink it.

Step 3
Bonuses/Penalties

Small credit for traditional foods. Real penalties for palm oil, artificial sweeteners, and flavor enhancers.

Step 4
A score out of 100

Deal-breaker ingredients cap the total - a product can’t out-macro a bad label.

Evaluate the quality of your foods

Do you really know what you’re buying? Healthy Belgrade analyzes labels so you can learn at a glance which products are good for you and which ones you could avoid.

Every category has its own weights

Foods aren’t all judged the same way. This is the breakdown shown at the top of every category page.

    Lifts the score
    • One or very few ingredients
    • High main-ingredient share
    • No added sugar
    • Whole-food fats - nuts, fish, cocoa
    • Genuinely traditional recipes
    Drags it down
    • Palm & hydrogenated oils
    • Artificial sweeteners
    • Flavor enhancers & colors
    • Protein isolates & fortification
    • Long, unrecognizable ingredient lists

    Reading the number

    75–100
    Excellent

    A genuinely clean everyday pick.

    55–74
    Good

A solid choice with minor trade-offs.

    35–54
    Poor

Better options exist in the same aisle.

    0–34
    Bad

    Highly processed - worth skipping.

The score compares products within a category - it isn’t a diet plan or medical advice. Top-scoring pickles are still salty; chocolate is still chocolate.
